Yellow Brickie / Bush Sand is a 'fatty' sand sourced from Somersbey NSW, most commonly used for brick, block and stone laying. 'Fatty' sand refers to the clay content in the sand, which repels water (like fat) allowing the sand to become stickier and more workable when mixed with cement.

Note - Adding Hydrated Lime or Synthetic Lime (better for your skin, lungs & the environment) to the mix, will improve the performance of your motar dramatically.

Also great for brick bagging, you can create a range of colours with different colour cement and oxides.

Uses & Methods

The standard ratio for Yellow Brickie Sand motar is 6 parts sand to 1 part cement. Ps. For the D.I.Y - don't forget the water...

Also used as a levelling sand for underneath above ground swimming pools (big & small) because it's soft. fine and natural qualities.

Please note that this sand is a naturally occurring product. While every care is taken to provide consistency in colour it will vary from time to time - if necessary please request a photo of our current stock to be emailed to you, remembering only ever slight variations occur.
