White Brickie / Bush Sand is a fatty sand sourced from Maroota NSW, most commonly used for brick, block and stone laying. Fatty sand refers to the clay content in the sand, which repels water (like fat) allowing the sand to become stickier and more workable when mixed with cement.

Uses & Methods

• The standard ratio for White Brickie Sand mortar is 6 parts sand to 1 part cement. Ps. For the D.I.Y - dont for forget the water...

• Unsure of how much sand you need? 1 Cubic Metre = 1.7 tonne.

Note - Adding Hydrated Lime or Synthetic Lime (better for skin & lungs) to the mix will improve performance of your motar dramatcally.

Also great for brick bagging, as you can create a massive range of colours when mixed with different colour cement and oxides.

Most homes are done with Off White cement.

Also used as a levelling sand for underneath above ground swimming pools (big & small) because of its soft, fine & natural qualities.

Please note that this sand is a naturally occurring product. While every care is taken to provide consistency in colour it will vary from time to time - if necessary please request a photo of our current stock to be emailed to you, remembering only ever slight variations occur.
