Blue Circle Premium Clay is a superior fine kaolin clay, also known as Ball Clay. Mostly used as a plasticiser for building renders, mortars & general purpose filler.

     •  Possesses high quality plasticity, dry strength & refractory properties.

     •  Boral doesn't specify any mix ratios, as is dependant on the type of sand used. Remember use as little as possible to obtain desired workability & finish. 

     •  Naturally occurring raw material so colour can vary. No colour specification is available.

     •  It is strongly advised to conduct trials on all mix designs that the materials will be used in, to help the final product performance characteristics comply with relevant Australian Standards. Particularly mortars should be tested for compliance to 3700 - 1998 Masonry Structure Code, which provides detailed info on mortar mix design for different classifications, applications, performance & testing requirements.

     •  Mortars & Renders containing to much clay & fine silts will contribute to poor product performance in respect to bond, flexural and compressive strengths, excessive shrinkage and lower durability. Naturally occurring brickies sand may produce similar detrimental results.
