10mm Blue Metal is crushed from basalt rock found in the Wollongong region and screened to size. Is a natural aggregate that is commonly used for drainage. Its many uses include backfilling trenches, around Ag-Pipe, for drainage behind retaining walls, even as a base for concrete and deep garden beds to promote drainage. Also used for mixing concrete (especially core fill for besser blocks & retaining walls) due to its high compressive strength, and a cheaper alternative as a decorative rock for footpaths, driveways and landscaping.

Please note that Blue Metal / Basalt is a naturally occurring product. The colour can vary from time to time, from light to dark blue & even a red (rarely) - please request a photo of our current stock to be emailed to you if concerned with colour.
